TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS:Â Loan
San Diego FC have acquired defender Sam Vines on loan from Houston Dynamo FC, the clubs announced Wednesday.
Vines joins through the 2026 season, with an option to extend the loan for 2027. In return, Houston will receive a third-round pick in the 2028 MLS SuperDraft.
The 27-year-old former United States international joins Houston shortly after they transferred left back Luca Bombino to English Championship side Stoke City.
The Colorado Rapids homegrown product has played three games (83 minutes) for Houston this season after signing in March.
He previously recorded 3g/7a in 116 appearances for the Rapids and has also played for Belgium side Royal Antwerp.
The Chrome-and-Azul are eighth in the Western Conference (30 points), on track for a second straight Audi MLS Cup Playoffs appearance following their historic 2025 expansion campaign.
