TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing
FC Cincinnati have acquired defender Julián Malatini on loan from German Bundesliga side Werder Bremen, the club announced Thursday.
The 25-year-old Argentine center back's loan is through June 2027 and includes a purchase option.
"Julián is a talented defender who brings Bundesliga experience and a strong desire to continue developing," said Chris Albright, FC Cincinnati general manager.
"He has the size, athleticism, and intensity we value in a center back, and we're excited to welcome him to FC Cincinnati."
Malatini has contributed two goals and one assist in 34 appearances across all competitions with Werder Bremen. He previously played for CA Talleres and Defensa y Justicia in his native Argentina, making a combined 84 appearances between the two clubs.
FC Cincinnati are sixth in the Eastern Conference with 31 points, heading into Saturday’s Eastern Conference clash against D.C. United (7:30 pm ET | Apple TV).
