Austin FC delivered a comeback for the ages on Saturday night, with a special starring role by Christian Ramírez.
The former US men's international striker scored a late brace, capped by a dramatic 86th-minute equalizer, as Austin rallied from three goals down to salvage a wild 3-3 draw with San Diego FC at Q2 Stadium.
Ramírez's heroics earned him Energy Moment of the Matchday presented by Celsius honors for Matchday 28.
Fellow USMNT veteran forward Brandon Vazquez sparked the hosts with a 73rd-minute header, before Ramírez struck twice in four minutes (82', 86') to complete Austin's miracle comeback.
With the result, the Verde & Black extended their unbeaten streak to eight games (3W-0L-5D) and moved within four points of the Western Conference's ninth and final Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs spot.
Ramírez and Austin have seven games left in the regular season, beginning with a home clash against Supporters' Shield-leading Nashville SC on Oct. 10 (8:30 pm ET | Apple TV).
