Allan Saint-Maximin is off and running.
Charlotte FC’s superstar summer signing scored his first goal for the club on Saturday night, and it served as the game-winner in a 2-1 victory at D.C. United.
Saint-Maximin, a former English Premier League star at Newcastle United, has delivered since arriving in Charlotte as a Designated Player from RC Lens in France’s Ligue 1.
While Saturday marked Saint-Maximin's first goal with CLTFC, he has also provided five assists in eight league matches.
Saint-Maximin's creativity and pace down the left wing have been a major factor in the Crown’s climb up the Eastern Conference standings. With a 5W-0L-3D record in their past eight games, Charlotte have reached fourth place (43 points), which would secure home-field advantage in Round One of the Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs.
Still squarely in the prime of his career, Saint-Maximin is playing like one of MLS’s most electric attackers.
He’ll hope to carry his form into the stretch run and the playoffs, forming strong connections with Pep Biel and Idan Toklomati along the way.
